Back at the beginning of quarantine my daughter was really into card games. She especially loved the classic “Go Fish!” (I think mostly she liked screaming “Go Fish!” at the top of her lungs.) Anyway, totes cutes. But also a little sad. Because I kept thinking how by the time she’s my age, well, there won’t be any fish left in the ocean.
That was the uncomfortable thought that launched this side project: No Fish! A Game of Environmental Catastrophe for the Whole Family. It’s basically a new, backwards version of Go Fish! for the dystopian future we’re creating. It’s a bit educational and a bit of a dark lark.
Oh, and it took home silver at the The Side Show Awards, which was pretty sweet.
It started with a Kickstarter that was a bit more successful than I’d imagined.
Now I’m selling the game online. I’m also working to partner with schools, so the game can be used as a teaching tool, as well as with big brands that have a conservation mission. It’s a work in progress, but that was always the point of it.
